Game story...

It had all the makings of a potential classic: top-seeded Connecticut (33-4) taking on second-seeded Kentucky with a trip to New Orleans on the line. However, the Huskies did not cooperate. Trailing 23-22 with nine minutes left in the first half, UConn went on a 26-3 run to blow open the game and go on to a 83-53 victory. Breanna Stewart’s eleven points fueled the run aided by Stefanie Dolson’s six rebounds and two assists during that time.

Really wasn't a slow start. A loose start, a sloppy start, both teams were going all out and they were roughly scoring 20-20 in the first 10:00 and UConn had the lead most of the time.

Disagree, but its semantics. When you can't get the ball across half court in a reasonable time frame, and Geno has to throw Bria to the scorer's table to get her in because of the struggles, that's a slow start in my book.

? 14-8 at the first media break UConn up equates to 70 points for the half. Sorry, it isn't semantics and it isn't slow. Disorganized, chaotic, frantic, sporadic, many things, not slow.

Alright, one final response.

You are certainly welcome to disagree, but to me, a "slow start" for a team that has come out and put away opponents early and often includes trailing 23-22 at the 11:00 minute mark, your leading scorer on the bench in foul trouble, having to pull your starting point guard in the first five minutes because she's struggling with the press, the opposing team hitting over 50% of their shots, and committing 5 turnovers in the first 8 minutes.

Playing disorganized, frantic, etc. all go into a team having "a slow start."

You can have a fast pace and a slow start. Not slow pace, slow start for the team.

By the way the piece was good. I enjoy your work most all the time. I, especially, like the progression of development you have maintained. UConn has many truly slow starts. It has often taken them 10 minutes to sort out what teams are doing last night wasn't one of those except maybe on D.

I appreciate it, and believe me, your comments are taken as constructive criticism at all times. Please continue to do so, I need/appreciate it.
