But still, Donovan was coaching Florida for a while, won 2 championships in a row, Hoiberg has not done much. I'd say Donovan is going to be remembered in Florida but if Freddy jumps to the NBA I'd say he will be forgotten by the Iowa St family pretty quickly, as a coach that is.
Dude can't even get past the Elite Eight in college. But if he's gettinf NBA money, can you blame him? I'm sure ISU fans can at least, they're basically P5's VCU
He's been there since 2010 and had to rebuild from the bottom, was he supposed to be reaching Final 4s right off the bat?Dude can't even get past the Elite Eight in college. But if he's gettinf NBA money, can you blame him? I'm sure ISU fans can at least, they're basically P5's VCU
No but you figure he'd have done more before being offered an NBA jobHe's been there since 2010 and had to rebuild from the bottom, was he supposed to be reaching Final 4s right off the bat?

Hoiberg was a former NBA player, worked in an NBA front office, and like KO was well liked around the league and considered an NBA coach in waiting. The fact that he took a program that was in the dumps and had them competing for B12 regular season titles, won back to back conf tourney titles, all while showing a good feel for player development within an NBA offensive system made him a no brainer for an NBA job.No but you figure he'd have done more before being offered an NBA job
Assuming Hoiberg leaves to coach in the NBA/Bulls next week...the question becomes will Monte Morris & Georges Niang play out their careers at ISU or transfer out????? Good chance they stay with their surrounding pieces but no guarantee. Hoiberg and Ollie are both self made hard working guys that remind me of each other to a certain degree. I wonder if there will be any personnel fall out if Fred H. leaves. Interesting...I'm just not sure.
LolNba has done a great job repairing their image. I don't think donovan or hoiberg leave college ball if it were 10-15 yeas ago
They'd have to sit, no? I can't imagine they would transfer out.

If the Cavs keep all their pieces together that team will be in the finals the next 2-3 years.
Thibodeau must be impossible to deal with. If the players and the organization hate him maybe it is on him. He's a great coach, but he can only be in small doses.
Hoiberg is good and all, I'm just not bullish on the long term future of that bulls roster. I would consider blowing it up with the way Noah hobbled to the finish. There would be takers for Noah, a vet/locker room presence guy perhaps off the bench for a contender ( gsw?), but not so sure about rose. As for thibs, he'll sit out and collect that massive bulls check, then return in a year to coach...I think he would be awesome on minny as well as a new look laker team
That would be something else if he turned it around, but I still would ttake 6-7 east teams rosters going forward over them. Mirotic, Butler... pau turns 35 in july. Can't rely on rose , hasn't been consistent since coming back from injuries. needs a ton of rest to be effective. And with butler who knows how long he'll be there/ what kind of contract the bulls match this offseason... a lot of their long term upside hinges on snell and mcdermott improvement. You really want to cast Noah off one year removed from being first team all-NBA? I figured he was just hurt last year.
The word is that the knee he had operated on recently has been reduced to a bone on bone condition, you'te not getting any takers from him with that situation. I wouldn't expect his play to dramatically improve either, they're probably going to have to manage and monitor his minutes. You really want to cast Noah off one year removed from being first team all-NBA? as far as assets and flexibility, boston + atl . so maybe just 5Which 6? Washington, Milwaukee, Cleveland...I count 3. And Was/Chi is pretty close in my mind. Maybe Detroit on this strength of Drummond's future.
