No question our man Has is really hurting out there. Hasn’t looked himself in weeks. I’d like to see him not even dress for seton hall. I’ve liked our position-less lineups and I think there’s something there. Even without a big depending on the matchup. Hope we lean into it more for the next couple of games before the Johnnie’s rematch.

It sucks because Hass was having an excellent year before he got hurt, with an A:TO ratio approaching 3:1.

Not sure I understand why 2-4 weeks of rest wouldn't make much difference in improvement. Big East tournament starts March 12th and NCAA March 20th. Not a medical doctor but using myself as example rest/rehab always makes things better, what does Has have that this wouldn't make sense?

100%. What the heck is it? All I’ve heard is tendinitis in knee. Rest, ice, maybe cortisone. Unless it’s something else.

Not to play doctor or speculate but if it’s knee related, a meniscus tear wouldn’t generally heal unless repaired with surgery. My understanding is that many MCL and PCL tears would heal with a few weeks’ worth of rest.

A little torn cartilage can do a number on a knee in terms of tendonitis. Not bad enough to prevent him playing, but won't really resolve until surgery or longer term rest. At this point it's manage the symptoms and keep the joint as strong as possible.

Hurley has stated that Dr's have told him Hass would need to sit for 4-6 weeks to make a difference. Which is end of season basically.

Its been stated as tendinitis. If so an inflamed knee tendon sheath that hurts like a mofo, but isn’t something structural. Makes me wonder if they can rest as much as possible between now and tournament, and then shoot a steroid or some anti inflammatory in there to carry him through March.

Well for starters, he’s definitely resting for seton hall then maybe if the Villanova game gets sticky , throw him out there for a bit but if I’m Hurley , he doesn’t see the Floor until the St. John’s game - if that , then sit him vs gtown and maybe providence

Tendonitis is extremely ,painful but I do know a cure
I had it so bad ,back in the 1990’s , in my right wrist , I could not turn on a water faucet
i couldn’t get rid of it for months regardless of what I tried . The wrist brace was worthless I was spending hours at a computer keyboard every day .
Then I had the old fashioned hernia surgery where they actually cut you open.
i was laid up for over a week in bed no work , no computer .
At the end of the week by a miracle my tendonitis was gone no I’m not recommending hernia surgery.
Rest the leg completely for a good week just may do the trick it can’t hurt.
Trying to play through it is the worst thing possible

I assume he’s had cortisone or similar injections? They worked pretty good for many athletes.

Yeah, I was thinking to just not have him dress for 3 weeks and stay off it. I just think there are other better options than Diarra at 60%. I guess if they thought 3 weeks off would help him they would do it though.

I know that rest does not necessarily cure tendinitis, but he also does not want to make it worse with some kind of additional strain on it.

Take as few steps as possible. He is a senior so he does not need practice reps. Conditioning should be on stationary devices like bicycles, and play him sparingly in games we will not need him.

We need to get Nowell some playing time and get him ready for the tournament. Teams will collapse on Liam soon, and we need someone who can create and attack. Also, I hope Mahaney get his St Mary mojo back somehow.

Ball and McNeeley have done a good job running offense, but with Diarra and Nowell hurting Uconn is going to have to get some minutes out of Mahaney. Seton Hall is at the bottom of the league. There will never be a better chance to let Maheney play through some mistakes and try to get some traction.

Get him in the pool. My kid used to pool run as cross training for XC.

I think you run the offense through Liam. He is crafty enough to get his looks off of the motion. Let Ball and Mahaney work to their spots and in addition, both of those guys are comfortable taking the ball to the hole.
