Trump has deployed active military to help round up migrants and put them into detention camps. The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years. History is repeating. Pay attention.

Prepare for things to get very dark. This is not the kind of thing that reverses without some cataclysm as a fulcrum.

Try not to get incensed by the day to day outrages and distractions. Instead focus on things that:

Can not be easily reversed by a change in government control.

Anything that makes elections harder for the opposition party to win.

Anything that will lead to a cataclysmic event, in spite of what I said above. Wars aren't good for anyone.

Be prepared to fight for the rule of law, in spite of what I said above.

Feel.free to enjoy any FAFO accountability experienced by those responsible for this. It's a long list so you'll have opportunities. Don't feel guilty about it.

Continue.to call out the grift, incompetence, and fascism Don't let it normalize further than it has.

Expect the lies and prepare to ignore or refute them. Don't over exert your sanity though. It's wasted effort. They can't get though a 30 sec media hit without distorting reality beyond recognition.

The Episcopal bishop of Washington, Rev. Marianne Edgar Budde, dared to ask Trump to have mercy on those who now live in fear. Authoritarians thrive when people become afraid to speak up. May we all be as courageous as she is when we see pain and injustice inflicted on others. What a hero.
