I'm going to need a right hip replacement because of "Moderate to severe osteoarthritis of the right hip with small joint effusion. Moderate osteoarthritis of the left hip."

I've heard there are different types of surgery, such as robotic, which I was told is the best way to go.

Had my right hip done in 2019, total replacement via anterior, and done manually. My wife had both knees done (2022-23), and her second knee was done robotically. Same doctor for all 3. I think that’s all they do these days unless there are extenuating circumstances.

My son-in-law just had his left done. Up and around in couple weeks.

Some discomfort when the block wears off, but you’re walking out same day. Just do your rehab faithfully and you’ll be ok. Good luck!
 
I had both done. At NYU. Get someone who has experience in it.
