Hines visiting tomorrow!!!

Is this dude legit? Seems like a realistic tweet but I looked at his previous posts and he has one saying Silas is entering the NBA draft?

IMO a pretty significant upgrade to Reibe in how we want to play. He’s going to be all-conference type defender, has some skills, and looks to dunk everything. Offensive numbers aren’t great but remember, SHU is an absolute dumpster fire offensive system. He’ll get way better looks here.

11 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks when he played against us. Not too shabby against Tarris.

By the way, that was the game that Clark attempted to hoist the ball towards the basket and whined for a 3 point foul. The refs wisely ignored him. Unfortunately that little punk Cadeau got the call for doing the same thing against us. Sorry...I digress. You guys triggered me!

I like Holloway and like Seton Hall, but I am lukewarm on Hines. Holloway could teach me to be a decent defender, so I don’t want to give Hines too much credit for his freshman year D. I think his upside offensively is Samson Johnson, and it could take him that long to develop.

I would like Reibe back.

This same page said we're in on Mingo so idk if they're to be trusted. Would be quite a stacked backcourt if braylon, solo, and silas are back.
If we’re in on Wilkins doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to think we’d be in on Mingo. That said, I have no idea to what extent or any we’re interested in either

I have a feeling later this week, I will be grateful for the relationship between Hurley and Holloway.

I’ve said it in another thread last week, Hines is Reed 2.0 but a better shot-blocker. Both bigs spent their underclassman years in awful offenses, but there’s the build, footwork and creativity on the blocks that is an exciting profile for Hurley and the staff to develop.

If he could teach you how to be 6'11" and 20 years old I'd say screw the portal, we have enough prospects on the Boneyard.

Hines does more of the things I think Dan cares about in a big which didn't seem to come naturally to Reibe his freshman year. IMO rebounding and rim protection for a big outweighs most of the stretch 5 abilities that Reibe might have had.

I saw that too and I immediately questioned the source. That doesn’t make sense especially with his injuries

Offensively, he has way more upside than Samson. He can be very efficient scoring from the block in. There is a lot to like here with a lot of room to grow. He fits the 5 role nicely on both ends in our system. It’s possible that Reibe has more offensive range but Hines is a better fit.

(With Reibe, it’s hard to ignore the regression as the season progressed. He went from giving good minutes to being unplayable. Clearly, something was up.)

All due respect, you have clearly never watched him play because this is a horrible take. His offensive skill level compared to freshman SJ is FAR better and the idea that he’s only good defensively because of Holloway is ridiculous.

Send me Samson's freshman tape where he has 11 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks against a 6' 11" 270 lb all big east player. I can't find it.

Obviously, one of the top portal big options but we need more than upside on the offensive end of the floor from this spot to be a contender.

Greedily would like to pair Hines with Thiam. I think that's as close to a Johnson/Clingan aggregate that we could hope for given the circumstances. A junior and a sophomore, neither a 35 min/game 5 but a formidable rotation.

The guy I want for the 4 is Milan Momcilovic. Would fit into AKs spot perfectly. Back up the truck for this guy.

These three plus whatever we have coming back in the backcourt puts us in a very good place.
