On this morning's local news, a pair of bald eagles nesting in Milford. The first in 70 years, and they have three eggs.

Now about 30 pairs in Connecticut. Audubon Society says it's one of the all-time outstanding success stories for avian conservation efforts.

If the nest holds up, they expect the eagles to return next winter.

That is so great! A magnificent bird of prey. Here in MT they come back pretty early and I have been lucky to have several hang within 15 minutes of the house in big, tall old cottonwoods. It's sorta gross but they hang around to feast on cow afterbirths, then after calving season head off to nest along our glorious rivers.

Yeah, I understand their primary diet is fish, despite your news of a taste for more, um, exotic cuisine.

Some of my former classmates could be referred to as bald eagles living in Milford. :)

Nice story, JS!

I like all Eagles not residing in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
