totally agree with you. when she went out in the first half with 2 fouls, PSU went on their run. cut the lead to 5. and on top of great defense, she actually scored 15 points on 7-10 shooting. Kalana Greene had a great mid range game, and frankly i'm surprised Kelly hasn't done this more often. it looked as natural as breathing to her.

but you know, a nice game by Tiff with a stress reaction AND apparently a stress fracture in her foot.

That block on Lucas's three was sick. What a bada** she is!

Kelly's shot selection was great today. Even the threes were good looks. But I loved her taking advantage of the open mid-range.

As a past sufferer of "raging badass" I fail to see the humor.

It only feels like TMI and nuclear meltdown but as far as I know there is nothing nuclear about it.

Absolutely agree on Faris. She made the difference, and was willing to take her shots all night and make a few. Other observations, for what they are worth:
-- Wasn't it wonderful to have the first baskets of the night made by Faris and Doty?
-- Defense was wonderful.
-- It was a pleasure to watch Stef. She was working hard, made shots when she needed to, cleaned up others' shots inside and was unstoppable on those outside jumpers. And you had to love those blocks where PSU players drove
-- Last 7 minutes or so were really not okay. I mean, UConn got through it, but the play was really sloppy.
-- Hartley had a fine game and is a wonderful player. I love the idea of having her for two more years. But IMHO she is not a point guard, and the sooner UConn employs her as a full-time shooting guard, the better I'll feel. Why? well, some of those goofy passes, for one thing. For another, it seems to me that she does not have wonderful pass-in-to-the-center skills. Just my opinion.

She played point guard for a few possessions, too. Bria was out and the lineup was Kelly, Tiff, KML, Kiah and Stef - the big lineup. She did a decent job.

I totally agree with your comments and posts on Kelly! Yesterday,Kelly added 15 points, everything else was pure Kelly! It was also nice to hear during the broadcast a # of times of how special Kelly is! All of the things that do not show up in the stats! Ironically, there are "STATS this year that can easily be pointed to Assts,A/TO ratio, steals,DEFENSE!
Certainly within the framework of the offense<it has been said enough times that she is not always being guarded closely> what she did yesterday can be repeated it is a win/win sitution if they then feel forced to guard her,it opens up someone else!
I am trying to remember the baskets, there were layups which I think she can get every game,at least 2 shots in the key,a steal which she took in for a basket.Another play in which she was in a breakaway<the Lucus block>and she was hammered going to the basket! She made one of 2 foul shots! Her level of play is to me consistent Kelly! Loved the kid for 3 years and it just grows! I think Geno has said in the past and I agree if everyone played with the intensity etal of Kelly we would win NCs!

Yes. Either this play or the other play where she knockedthe ball loose to Tiff and got it back from Tiff for a layin has to b e the play of the game, although there were a lot of great plays.

I love Faris' game. i realize you can't have an entire team of Kelly Faris' because scoring enough to win would always be a challenge, but i'm not sure i've seen such a complete game from her this year, including a fantastic mid range jumper. Is that something new in her arsenal?

To me, she plays extremely blue collar and I think no one works harder than she does. Pound for pound, I'll bet she's the strongest player on the team.

Some of us on the board have been hoping for just this kind of shot from Kelly, move inside the 3-point line and pull-up. I remember someone saying that she didn't have that shot, well she has it now.
Other than that, she was huge!
