Don’t limit to 1.
My fav Modern order: Large sausage mozz. And a small hot cherry pepper. Alternate bites and watch out for flames in the morning.

For my birthday gift, my wife got us a room at the Hi-Ho and we'll head over to New Haven to pick up pizza from both Sally's and Modern. First night out of the house since January. It'll be my first time at Modern and her first time at both.

One pie from each.

What's the order?

Sally’s wasn’t doing take out, so a cheese pie from Modern was the tab. Excellent tang and I appreciated the sharpness of the parmesan blended in with the motz. Not as well done as I expected it’ll be, but fun to have my first New Haven pizza in years!

This should probably go in the Pizza thread but had the fresh clam again from Zuppardi's and it's outstanding. Buyer Beware though. 2 med clam and a lg sausage came to $95 with tip
Their fresh clam isn‘t cheap, but it’s sooo good that I’ve never scoffed at the price.

Also agree that the sausage pie is mandatory. Last time we got it with escarole and bean and it was outstanding.

That's next up on the pizza pilgrimage. W/o traffic we're just 30 minutes from West Haven so 2 clam pies are on queue. I'm a sucker for their family history, too.

Their fresh clam is the must-have, but really don't sleep on the rest of the pizza menu, especially the house-made sausage and the escarole and bean pizza. And their Covid take-out set-up has been the best, easiest and most consistent among the New Haven area pizza joints imo.
