Helluva debut by Pirates rookie

Max Kranick was called up today for a spot start as Bucs have 20 games in 20 days. Pitched 5 innings on 50 pitches, no hits, no walks, no errors.

Game in rain delay so he probably won't be back to try and finish, but it's a bright spot in an otherwise dreadful season. And he was helped by this play:

A carrier pigeon could throw Molina out from 3rd. That throw on virtually anyone else is ill-advised.

OTOH, Good on Kranick and Hayes for giving Pirate fans something to cheer about.
