Do not trust that account. It spews a lot of information hoping for something to stick and it seldom does.

She could very well end up at UConn, but I’d wait until she releases the news or a more reliable source.

Donnie Woods at WER is the farthest thing from a reliable source. But under the premise that “even a blind squirrel can find an acorn every now and then,” who knows. Maybe he found an acorn.

The one thing you can count on is if someone releases news that is not reliable, the more trusted sources that try to get info on transfers will be all over it, using their own sources to quickly confirm or dismiss as untrue. From what I can tell, Talia Goodman and Skim Milkey are usually among the first to report news that is reliable.

Maybe we can look for a picture of our favorite breed of dog, or something with a lot of blue and white in it from Skim. That is her equivalent of Dawn's birdie in the nest, when it is known but not yet formally announced.

Skim Milkey has been saying Heckel to UConn is a possibility though since 2 weeks ago, and they’re almost always right. Perhaps they're the "source" WER is using.

Other "timing" issues at play: 1) U$C finals this Spring Semester, 5/7/25 - 5/14/25; 2) signing period period ends 5/23/25.

Conjecture: Announcing before this weekend (a.k.a. today), to "free up brain space" for studying for Finals - four days prior to the first final technique to maximize scoring or finish projects/rehearse (group) presentations makes scholastic sense. Today could also be Kayleigh's last day of classes, so a 17:00 PDT (20:00 EDT) announcement could be in order, or it could be a couple days after her last final went she gets back "home" with friends and family - her choice.

Go Huskies!!

One wonders where our ‘chip count would be now had Wilson, Boston, and Cardoso come to UConn or if we had simply remained fully healthy throughout the Paige era? I’m very happy with twelve, mind you!
Love the poker chip reference. Perhaps if we had 6’6” Jack “Treetop” Strauss playing in the post we might have won.

I don't often dive down this rabbit hole, but the rabbit that leads me on this chase is Dorka's broken wrist. That season, the team was on a total roll in March, inspired by Paige's return. Evina was playing really crisply, Christyn was a mature decision-maker, and Azzi was finding her D1 personality, and Caroline's hip wasn't hurting her as bad as it would soon. Dorka's wrist really hurt, and it just went downhill from there.

This is the chip that got away, at least in my addled mind.
...or the last second losses to uNd and Mississippi State, or EDD did not decide to go to Delaware.

Sometimes losses are there to make one appreciate the Championships that much more. Each team that earned a Championship or lost in the FF or NC were a different set of women, with a different set of circumstances. But like Simba and Rafiki in Lion King, upon getting hit in the head with Rafiki's stick once, "It's in the past, just don't get hit in the head again!"

Learn from the past, but look to the future.

Lots of learning for the "new pups" (5 (if Kayleigh joins) + 3 on IR (Injured Reserve or limited minutes) to end the season) to Geno, CD & Company's system this Summer and Fall before official team practice begins in October, and team bonding to occur. It's all part of the process that Geno, CD & Company do much better than most as the women have bought into "the process."

Go Huskies!!!

I hope she’s coming to UConn but I think waiting for her to make an official announcement is what matters. Never even heard of this source.

Any news on Summer basketball practice sessions vs. last day to register for courses at UConn?

Other than the end of Spring signing period of 5/21/25, I do not know of any other time limit for Kayleigh Heckel (little Husky) to announce her signing.

Either way: Go Huskies!!!
