Cool article - this is the first summer Al wasn’t rehabbing his shoulder - he was actually just building strength and conditioning. Perhaps that could be a difference maker?

Al deserves a healthy season. Let’s leave the AAC with a bad taste in their mouth Al!

Agreed! It’s too bad his college career will be filled with questions about what he could have been if only he’d been healthy. It’s good he will have a season where he’s going in with the same chances as everyone else.

Bad coaching is bad enough. Bad coaching with injuries to key players is a disaster.

Those questions will be answered if he performs like the stud he was in hs. He also has a supporting cast that is quite good. The problem is some key pieces are young. Can they develop quickly enough to make a difference?

Kemba’s brilliance was not only his talent and effort. It was his ability to make the young pups Division 1 ready.

Excellent point. Kemba was amazing in many ways. I would add to the ones you mentioned this: he also had the fire to win and he brought everyone along with him. He made his teammates believe they could win. That’s not easy to do.

If Gilbert can do that, (obviously it will be tough to win a national title), he will have impact and cement his legacy here. Tate George is a UConn great and he didn’t win the big one. But he showed us how far we could go.

Al deserves to leave. He'll have his degree and been in college for 4 years. Size will likely keep him from the league. It just makes sense to go make some $ while he can overseas. He only at so many years at his size.

The writing was on the wall when RJ came in. Too bad though. A super-senior rique with an improved 2019 recruiting class for us could be deadly.

I think he will return to UConn for Senior year. Everyone will be holding their breath. Tippsters will be hedging their bets and that never happens here. There are several pros to staying that could easily tip the scale towards a return.

If I were his agent a good case could be made on a return to the University of Connecticut for the 20-21 season. No doubt I am in the minority of maybe the .005% that thinks this. Putting odds on a return of around 5000/1 or the equivalent of UTEP winning the National Championship this year puts the BDH out on a limb by himself to HANG. Let's go...

One may conclude that the dice roll says AG is moving on after this year? Should be a good performance. Or might he stay for an even bigger season next year?

This is huge. The kid has been working every year to either get more healthy or work the rust off as they said. So good to see he has been able to work to just be a better basketball player and leader for this team without the worry of making up for time lost for whatever reason. Obviously always a concern with that shoulder but if he can stay healthy all year we will be better no doubt. Rooting for him to have a solid and healthy year no kid deserves it more.
