I wonder how DD will fair against the South Carolina guards. If she drives to the hoop I think Aja will eat her up.

Since we beat S. Carolina already, this is not a must see game.

I will be watching as a WCBB fan.... anxious to see another SC game..... I have seen the LVs more this year.... they have been on more out here where I live.....

It seems that Vol Nation has conceded the top to South Carolina.... as they have in recent years eroded away at their dominance.... now even Tennessee's attendance mark is being beaten by SC....

Of all the handicapping that can be done on this game..... and there is much one could cite.... i would only say that I have never seen the LVs put together a full 40 minute clinic in a long long time..... I would say Carolina by 16

I'll watch out of curiousity. Russell is a crème puff, so Holly's pound it in, which is also Dawn's, will be on full display against Tenn. If they can pressure SC guards and turn SC over a fair amount, they just may hang in there.

I am curious whom BY would most love to see lose between these two? I personally would prefer Tennessee to beat SC, since SC is now the team we most need to fear, other than ND.

Just wondering. Why does UCONN need to fear SC (or anybody for that matter)? You guys already beat us in a pretty dominating fashion.

Not saying you guys should root for us. You definitely shouldn't, but I'm confused by the SC paranoia.

Apparently diem needs a little fear mixed in to feel like he/she is carpeing. ;)

I have no problem rooting for SC. Dawn is trying to do in Columbia what Geno's done in Storrs. I appreciate seeing the game played well by our opponents and see no reason (with a couple of exceptions for particularly bad behavior) to dislike one of our rivals just because they provide us with real competition.

I don't root against Stanford just because they ended our 90 game win streak, or Villanova because they stopped us at 70.

The thing about Tennessee is that they have the talent to compete against anyone.
Impossible to handicap with certainty.
That's why those wishing for them to be a 16-seed in our bracket may be wishing for something they might regret.

I would think that if two teams in a given game will never play Uconn again this season, I'd root for the team playing against Tennessee. However, there's always a chance of meeting in the tourney. In this case, Uconn-South Carolina would be on a neutral court (presumably in Indy), so that adds points to the 12-point MOV Uconn has already enjoyed. Meanwhile, I don't see Tennessee matching up well with the Huskies at all, so the hypothetical games against either team is equally advantageous for Uconn.

Everything else being equal, I root against Tennessee. And circumstantially speaking, I think most circumstances are equal here. We'll see South Carolina exploit its depth and size advantage and take this game. So with circumstances being equal, I pull for USC, and with there being natural advantages in South Carolina 's favor...I still pull for the Gamecocks.

This has the potential to be an interesting game.

In order for that to happen, Mercedes Russell has to be a force on the boards and be a defensive presence. Diamond DeShields has to limit her turn overs and score in double digits. Probably the most important factor is the Lady Vols have to hit their 3 point shots, especially Kourtney Dunbar who is their best three point shooter.

Ultimately So Carolina will win the game, but I expect the Lady Vols to feed off the home crowd to keep the game close for 3 quarters.
