Now you can follow your man-crush over there. See ya.

For the last time, I agreed it was time for him to go. My point was that blaming him for everything wasn't true and firing him alone wouldn't solve all the problems. And when is the last time you heard so few complaints and so many compliments concerning the NCAA selection committee?

He had his faults but blaming him for Burton's antics over Coach P is ridiculous.

Dealing with with jerks is part of the job. Herbst and Pendergast had no problem bringing him back into the fold.

He wasn't perfect and it was time for him to go, but at least judge him on the merits, not some vague impossible-to-quantify zls44-style 'he didn't lead...ever...at all...never...ever' rant.

"We won some national championships and bowl games," Hathaway said. "But more importantly, we posted a repeated 99 percent academic retention rate of our student-athletes, nearly 50 percent of which attained a 3.0 [GPA] or higher. We had an outstanding APR in 2010-11, especially our men's basketball team, that scored a 978. All of it was not solely because of me, but because of our excellent coaches, staff and athletes committed to excellence that brought me along for the ride."

Seriously, Jeff, seriously?

That last sentence in the Hathaway quote says it all about this guy. He started saying what he basically felt, that he did it all himself, then quickly changed it up to try to look less egotistical... He failed. He really meant to say that he took everyone else along for the ride, not that they took him along.
