on another note, I hope Drummond performs well in the league not just because he's a good kid but the reputation of our big men is pretty bad right now. Hasheem goes without mention, but Josh & Hilton flamed out of the league pretty fast, and I'm not even sure if Emeka and CV actually still play in the NBA at this point.

CV and Emeka play in the NBA. Me thinks you need to research more

Emeka averages a double double for his career. Not exactly an All-NBA guy but he is a good player.

Agreed. A center who averages a double double and plays good D is a rarity and not a bust for #2 overall. The problem is that he is compared to Dwight because of the discussion as to who should be picked first.

Not since Tate George got drafted has Calhoun coached up a player as much as he did Hasheem.

Not to mention Thabeet is like a toothpick compared to most centers in the league and even in the D- League.

Josh Boone, Travis Knight and Hilton are other examples although each of those guys had a brief period of time as serviceable. UConn's track record for big men in the NBA pales in comparison to what small forwards and shooting guards have done.

Interesting parallel that Tate and Chrissy Laetnner both known for last second game winners and bad real estate deals. NOTE TO SELF - NEVER buy real estate from Mario Chalmers, Tyus Edney or Bryce Drew.

I wouldn't call Ok4 a bust at all, but I think you can say his career has been somewhat disappointing. His numbers pretty much peaked his rookie year and has been on the decline ever since and this year he's averaging 10 & 8. Those aren't bad numbers, but I think most of us would've expected more seeing as how he improved every year here and how well he played as a rookie. He really doesn't have much impact on the game at all now and he's pretty much stuck in no-man's land and hasn't played in a month, that was really where I was going with the "not sure he still plays in the NBA" comment.

also, wears jeans that are too skinny.
Is that even possible?
At least being sent to Portland there's a chance his potential gets squandered due to injury as opposed to being cemented to the bench. I guess. :(

aceboon definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to the NBA. He was being facetious (barely).

This cements Portland's status as most boneheaded franchise in the country - they ought to just quit the foreplay and hire Isaiah Thomas to be general manager.
Ever since the Sam Bowie (over Michael Jordan) debacle this franchise has been cursed it seems..

He was getting manhandled even in college (see Blair, DeJaun) and another year of refinement really could have helped him I think. I think this is a lesson for Drummond.. its hard to get better in the NBA if you aren't close to ready.

After watching Portland play the Knicks I conclude that HT will fit right in. No one on that team seemed particularly interested in playing basketball. It was embarrassing

The Rockets just called. They want to know when the bag of balls will be delivered.

Calhoun wasn't the only one who touted Hash, Ricky P said he would be a force in the league for many years. Of course he is the same aforementioned who gifted Travis with 22 MILLION!!!!!!!!!! By the way Detroit selected Milicic ahead of C armelo!! Yikes.

hasheem spends more time on twitter than practicing bball, seems to be content with his one contract . . .

Beat me to it. This kid tweets all day long. I tweeted him saying if he practiced like he tweeted he'd be a hall of famer. What bothers me is he had the nerve to steal the nickname of one of the greatest centers of all time. Maybe being on his 3rd team in 6 months will wake him up a little
