I don't know. I would not mind at all if UConn gave Khalil a offer. He is serious about basketball. Works hard.

agree. were going to have a full 13 ships for the first time in years. i think many here have forgot what thats like. 3 kids most lilely wont see the floor much at all. remember those days? kids transfer out or they stay and enjoy the ride. dbev/chuck types are great for programs. i feel like dukes could be a good college pg so its his choice to play elsewhere and try to earn a lot of pt which he should do, but at the same time i would like to offer him and get him to uconn. i could see him taking 2 years of gym time( practice/weights) to develope and then turn into a quality 4 year player and who knows if maybe he turns out to be great by then or not. but hes the type of kid that grinds and works hard and is about it, thats the type of guy we need here for 4 years.

the pother side of it is we need to load up in this class because we have a couple ships to fill but we need impact players asap to get back to the top level on paper. with this being what it is i can see why right now is not the time for us to be looking at a dukes type of player.

Agree..if we are signing five guys for 2013the then i could be him in our class. From wyhat i hear he is between bev and wiggens for skill/ability, but is extremely hard working and could develop into a star or 1st off the bench

Dukes is going to be a good college player. He can flat out score and works his tail off at getting better, wish we offered him. Seems like USC is the only major who has offered so far, he's on the small side but who cares, if you can play you can play.

Calhoun will play you if you work hard. Look at olander, the news articles said we worked really hard at practice and so started. AO did not always and so sat. Did AO have more nature ability and skills, yes

The coaches at UConn took a look at him more than any other school, and decided not to offer him a scholarship. There must be a reason, and I trust their judgment.

Fringe guys typically end up transferring at UConn. I've been a huge fan of Kahlil Dukes on this board for years, but we can't afford too many more transfers.

He breaks down his thoughts from going to Vegas all the way up until his USC commitment.

http://kahlildukes.tumblr.com/ His latest entry on his tumblr deserves a read. He isn't the average basketball player. I wish he could be on this UConn team.

Very thoughtful and insightful kid. Maybe UConn reconsiders and offers Kahlil a schollie. From his writing it seems like he very much wanted a Big East offer, but USC offers him an opportunity to go to school for writing and being in LA/Hollywood can't hurt from that perspective.

Regardless, I'll be rooting for him.

Kid just dropped 48 and 42 points in his last two AAU games. He has been waiting for more big offers but USC is the only one who offered. I don't get the idea of how he is a fringe guy, trust me he is a bigtime player and highly underrated.

The question is whether or not he has the necessary patience. Let's face it, he wouldn't play his freshman year with Napier and Boatright on the roster. Does he have the patience to stick around even though he wouldn't start his sophomore year?

it was my point. for us he may be a fringe guy that could develop but his work ethic and home town guy type stuff would keep him here for the long haul i believe and the fan base would love him to death.

Well the Boat Show has indicated this is his last season. I don't think Napier is too far behind. Sorry. I'm just saying ...

He would have to play the waiting game till next Spring to see what our Guards would do so why not commit and have that security

Jamal Coombs-McDaniel also said after his freshman year that he was going to be drafted the next year. Obviously he left anyway, but reality has a way of slapping these kids in the face.

If Dukes were to stay for four years I'd be all for it. But him transferring after one year of sitting on the bench does nobody good.

True but unlike Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, Boat will be featured and forced to carry a much bigger load. Nobody prob believed Jamal Coombs-McDaniel anyways, not I.

Although, I would love if Napier & Boatright stayed. Would make 2014 special but hey, live your dreams.

Was watching some of the highlights and he reminds me of Dana Barros. Dana Barros could have played on any college team.
