He passed yesterday at 91 years old. He wasn't the greatest anything of any time period or any category, but I always liked him. He was from the "less is more" school of acting, always understated and letting the story tell itself rather than try to take over the scene.
His work as Roman Grant in Big Love made that character one of the Top 10 or Top 5 TV villains of all time. He carried that show, and I thought it went from being one of the best shows on television to being average and forgettable when his character was killed off.
