Got a hold of him a couple weeks ago, told him he had a great season, and really stepped up when we needed him to. Also, told him we were going to miss him.

Responded by saying: " thanks man, wish the season could have been better for you guys, we gave it our best shot, thank you for your support.

Chatted about some other small talk, but nothing too important.

Kid seems like a really great guy and has his head screwed on right...

Met him for the first time the summer before his freshman year and met him for the final time halfway through this past season. The kid has gotten a better personality and much more confidence in himself, it's amazing. Loves UConn and he definitely came in a boy and left a man.

One thing that I like about UCONN basketball players if that they do become much better person when they graduate. Amida was saying how much he progress as a person in his final home game. This is from the close structure, tight academic standards with lots of support and tough, yes tough practices. Notice how Sterling Gibbs was waving about his experience at UCONN and how much more he developed. He was with Isiah Whitehead previously who has a entourage at Seton Hall. Look at Shonn Miller and his experience here. If you are a mature and hard working individual. You will prosper here, if u r not. There is always the transfer route.

If anything, the maturity grad transfers bring can only help.

We still got to figure this freshmen recruiting thing out - grad transfers can be nice additions but the foundation to any program is the kids you recruit out of prep/HS and the success they have.
