    I'll guess 5,600. I think they'll have a very successful first year.

Per wikipedia, Dunkin Donuts Park has a capacity of 6,146. An average crowd of 5,600 is 91% capacity.
    Reading's stadium holds 9,000.
I'm guessing below the league average with 3,900 a game or 273,000 for 70 games. You know....if they actually open at all.

I didn't know there were even 5000 baseball fans left.

Peak attendance in New Britain was around 5,200. The last couple of seasons they were in the 4,200 range. I suspect they'll be around 4,500 per game.

By contrast, the Bees averaged 2,900 per game, with no competition, and tons of ticket giveaways.

Atlantic League baseball is a good league. I'd rate it a high AA/low AAA indepndent circuit.

    Average attendance will be 4700.

Hartford Expected To Lose Money On Dunkin' Donuts Park In Yard Goats' First Two Years

Excitement has grown as opening day approaches at the city's long-delayed minor league ballpark. But financial estimates still paint a grim picture for Hartford.

Projections show the city is expected to operate at a net loss on the downtown north development during the first and second year the stadium is open. Hartford will lose about $2 million this year and $3.5 million next year.

City leaders must make a $2.7 million payment on the stadium in 2017, and spend more than $170,000 on public safety, which will provide traffic control during and after games. At the same time, Hartford is only expected to pull in $887,467 in revenue from the ticket tax, parking, a share of the ballpark's naming rights and the Yard Goats' rent payment.

In 2018, the city's payment on the stadium and its public safety costs combined will reach nearly $5 million, while it is only expected to draw about $1.5 million in revenue. City officials only released estimates for the first two years of the park’s operation.

Some of the projections have changed over time. Previous city leadership had said the admissions tax would draw $426,000 per year, for example, while the most recent calculations show it would bring in $105,000 this year and $294,000 next year. Revenue in the current year is lower because the fiscal year, which began in July, is more than half over.

I saw that article. It ignores the increase in hotel rooms that will accompany the season, there should also be an uptick in restaurant and parking revenue. There are also a number of jobs that the YGs should support. 70% of those are city residents and their salaries will positively affect many city businesses. All of which should help off set the losses. The long term is what is important not 2017 or 18.

There have already been stories in the Courant about visiting fans that came for the opening week end. Just the facts.

But do you think they will ever win a home game?

It would be awesome, and so characteristically Hartford, if they set a record for home games without a win.

This Hartford Whalers' blue and green obsession is ridiculous. Jerseys are ugly. Even the Bluefish and Bees look better.

Waterbury having minor league teams in that whacked stadium was cool. Managed to see a Spirit game before they moved on.

Supposedly, University of Hartford drew 2910 for a game on Tuesday against Quinnipiac. They play again against Army in May, I believe.

Hartford is foreign territory to the Goats.
