The wine and cheese crowd will be gonzo. So the energy level at the Rent will be the same sans the occassional golf claps.

Good news is that I'll probably be able to move to chairbacks at midfield. 4 in my party today. Usually around 9 or 10.

Keep in mind that the listed attendance is all tickets sold, not how many people came to the game. If season ticket holders buy tickets and don't show up because of the threat of rain, they're still included in the listed attendance. The number of people who actually attended the game is never known.
With that in mind,

Both Herbst and Calhoun mentioned how The Rent could be expanded to 55,000 in interviews a few weeks back. Stadium size (and not just attendance) is a factor in the way people perceive a football program - as shallow as it may be.

Yes. But so does how full the stadium looks on TV. And unless we want to pay people to spend three hours sitting their butt in a seat, seeing a 55K stadium half empty is going to reflect poorly on us.
