30,000 if no rain... 22,000 if rain shows up. Uconn wins either way.

@rich1122 is your avatar from the catacombs in Paris? I saw them this summer. Very cool attraction.

EDIT: oh yeah, attendance numbers...filled student section until halftime. Let's say just south of 30k.

27,500. I can't go myself and am awaiting for the Marketplace to go live so I can try to sell my tickets. Can't make Thursday night games in Hartford when I have to work to 6 PM in North Jersey.

That's why they invented the half day :)

I save those for Friday night games, especially as I usually stay overnight in Hartford after the game instead of driving back to N Jersey at 11 P at night. I can't do that on Thursday nights as I have to work the next day.

The worst part of working in Academia is that Sep 1 is the first day of classes at Yale so there is no way I can leave work early on the first day all these kids show up.

I hear you. Need to take more than one half day. I'm taking both days off. Flying back from business trip Thursday morning, picking up son from school and then heading up. Friday off to Wisconsin for Wisconsin / LSU on Saturday.

I can think of a lot worse things then spending my first day back at work checking out the latest batch of young co-eds.

I used to work on campus a few years after school in a business incubator... I miss this a lot. heh.

Weather forecast right now for next Thursday is perfect- partly cloudy, high's during the day near 90, low at night of 67... Should be a little bit of heat when we show up at the lot for tailgating around 2PM.

If it's Wednesday night, and the school has a bunch of unsold tickets left, they should just offer their remaining ones for free on Thursday to any students that can show up.

It's supposed to be a great night weather wise. No rain excuses. UConn gave free tickets away to former season ticket holders who do not have active season tickets. There is a Pratt & Whitney employee promotion for this game. UConn FR tickets are free.

If we don't get north of 30K, then we probably should not continue with any more of these "guess the attendance" threads for the remainder of the season.

All PC Richard locations have free tix. Just mention Fox 61 or tell em you know Whaler11.

Just remember folks it's Whaler who ruins threads not passive-agressive toolbags who don't understand how pathetic it is to give away tickets to anyone who stumbles into PC Richard.

Unless you think using the same marketing tact as the New Britain Bees in a winner. They have been handing out free tickets up and down the Berlin Turnpike too.

Put this in a different thread but figured I'd drop it on the FB board too:

I am planning on raffling off a couple of tix to the opener on twitter through @UConnFBFacts either tomorrow or Wednesday. Some people had talked about wanting to contribute to something like this and I've worked with some of you in the past on this. If you have interest in buying seats to give to fans shoot me a DM.

When we include my two seasonticket seats which will be occupied, 30,o74. But, extended forecast for Thursday night is calling for 99% chance of rain. Casual fans won't show up if it rains. Then, its 24,914.
Yeah, that 8 day forecast is hyper accurate.

32,156 in good weather.

26,652 in bad weather.

I'm being optimistic.
