UConn is not going go FCS or shut down the program. When they look at it they see a revenue generation potential that no other sport can offer. Whether the y can ever actually capitalize on that I don’t know.
Back to attendance guess. 11234 in building. Announced at 14896.

I misread the OP. I think 5000 will be the actual attendance, but the announced attendance will probably be somewhere between 10 and 15k.

From Mike Anthony today:

-> About 20,000 tickets have been distributed. The gate number – the number of fans actually in attendance – has been well below that figure in recent years. The Huskies’ average home attendance in 2019, for instance, was 18,216 tickets distributed and 10,126 tickets actually scanned. <-

I don’t think UConn Football could outdraw the Hartford Athletic at this point.

My father in law played football at holy cross back in the day while I went to UConn (wife is also a holy cross grad). Can’t believe Edsall has even put me in this position that this game is a “toss-up”.

Sadly, have a wedding in New Hampshire. Would definitely be there to see the win otherwise.

We have great New England weather forecast for Saturday and next Saturday against Purdue. Some early season games in the past have been brutally hot. Everyone needs to get out and support the players and enjoy life in the moment. Take it all in and be positive. Life is too short. I hope the team plays well and can give us a reason to make noise all game.

I am always wishing for a huge crowd and considering UConn didn't play last year I am hoping for 20,000 and that students actually stay through the third quarter. That would be nice.

I know you have choices listed CL82, but with the Price is Right rules I am going to go with the answer of 1 fan in the same way contestants guess $1 as they think the other contestants have gone over the actual prices, or attendance in this case. It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if attendance was below 5,000 (actual) and I end up the winner and I don't say that with happiness :(

As for announced, the PA announcer can say any nonsense like 30K or whatever so I am forfeiting that part of the game.

This game in an odd way is bigger than BCS Championship as UConn football is fighting for survival. If they lose to Holy Cross, oh my, the chorus for ending the football program will be deafening. Am I being hyperbolic? Probably, but this game is huge-UConn has to win convincingly.
Don’t think you’re entirely off base with this, especially after a goose egg loss last week. If they can’t beat an FCS school at home, when theyve had 2 years to prepare, what are we even doing anymore? If I were AD I’d not only fire my HC after the game, but honestly re-evaluate the entire program.

So long as my tickets work tomorrow, there will be at least 2 people (I already put my rant in the game day thread). If they don't, there will be 2 guaranteed empty seats for the rest of the year...
