I just came across an article that quoted incoming Oklahoma super recruit Aaliyah Chavez who, “guaranteed an Elite 8 appearance by the Sooners this coming season.” While that is one more round than this past year when Paige put up 40 pts in sending OK home during the Sweet 16 round, it hardly has the feel of “going out on a limb.”

On the other hand, it brought back fond memories of Stewie showing up in Storrs as a freshman, issuing a brash prediction of 4 national championships. As they say, “It ain’t bragging if you can do it.” 😎

Courtney Paris guaranteed that Oklahoma would make at least one Final Four, maybe more than that.

I always forget her name, but there was the really big post player who originally went to Texas and made some big promises. Those might've been just about her stats and not team success, but she crashed and burned HARD. Left Texas after doing nothing, I think bounced around several places but was at Middle Tennessee for a while and didn't even do much there. I think she was ranked #2 in her class.

Rellah Boothe is who you're thinking of. Here's a thread on it:

Talk about a cautionary tale...
