Boy, they toughed this one out.

Can't remember the last time a UConn team had 7 assists in a game. All credit to the 'Nova defense, forcing our Huskies to mostly play one-on-one. I was impressed by the team's composure, considering the average distance between guarder and guardee was about .028 inches for pretty much the whole game.

Was it lucky or what that so many of the Connecticut turnovers were dead-ball, resulting in the Wildcats garnering no fast-break points?

As usual, stout defense saved the day for the Huskies when they were on the short end of most statistics barring points and rebounds -- and those not by wide margins.

Thank you Aubrey.

Nice work and thanks @JRRRJ . A few things very interesting here, and in season stats in general. For one, in the latest game the Wildcats got more steals than we did, and this trend continues over the course of the season too. Secondly, in this game the Wildcats scored more points off of turnovers than the Huskies did, by a margin of 17-7. But UConn managed to get 5 points on fast breaks and Nova none. I was not able to find a season total or average of points off turnovers for us or opponents, but I would think we win that one.

It’s tough to jump in for steals with rubber legs. I don’t know how the Huskies stood up, much less played 40 minutes of a physical game

I agree that the Huskies played a whale of a game given the lack of rest and short bench. But the fascinating thing is that we got fast break points, and the wildcats did not. Perhaps the exhaustion, both physical and mental, was the cause of so many dead ball turnovers that lead to points off turnover discrepancy. I found it a strange "stats of the weird" thing.
