Please keep in mind that 6'8" Griner, who has been deemed by many as a God her on Earth.... was punished for knocking a Texas Tech player to the ground... and intentionally starting a fight. Fast forward three or four years and look... SHE THREW Dolson to the ground.... NOT ONCE, but TWICE in this game.

Griner is a piece of work

She is not a "piece of work" -- she is a very dirty player. If NCAA women's basketball has any guts or standards for allowable play, they would suspend Griner for the rest of the year. NCAA Tournament included. A 2 or 5 game suspension would not seriously punish Baylor or Griner. The first take-down of Stef was a very dangerous play. Watch the re-play and see how close Stef was to a serious head injury. She was hauled down from behind and had no way to defend herself. The act by Griner was worse than throwing a punch when she was a freshman. The punch you could see coming. Last nights play was just a dirty, premeditated, open court attack from behind Dolson -- which Stef could not see coming, and against which she could not defend herself.

On the second take down, Griner got a good arm lock on Stef and used all the leverage she could take advantage of to literally throw Stef to the floor. Stef had good, and legal, position on Griner which Brittany didn't like -- so she just threw her out of the way. God only knows where the refs were looking while swallowing their whistles.

If there are not serious consequences for the kind of play Griner exhibited last night, then women's college basketball is totally (and very sadly) out of control. And don't tell me "it is just part of the game." It is dangerous play and has to be stopped.

Thank you. I was out of my mind on the second take down and no whistle. I was wondering how badly a player has to be hurt before something is done. It was clear on the replay of the second incident that the action was no accident. I thank God that Stef is ok (I hope she gets checked out thoroughly). IMO, if a player has to resort to these kinds of tactics, the moniker of "great" is not theirs to own.

It would have been her second tech and she would be out of the game if it was called correctly. Griner seems to have a bit of a temper.

Griner is a great player. However, she is not used to another big strong player putting a body on her legally. But, wccb and the media has been protective of their "STAR". Then you have Dee Kantner( joke of an official), the master of the ticky tack call , but can't see a player being thrown to the floor. I guarantee if the roles had been reversed you would be seeing replays of it constantly. Instead what you would probably get from Mulkey is "poor Brittany" everybody picks on her, so she has to battle! As much as Kareem got manhandled, I never saw him resort to the tactics Griner used last night. Wait til she gets to the next level. What goes around comes around! And yes, I think wcbb is starting to spin out of control.
