To the great disappointment of her legions of twitter trolls in orange and garnet, Mulkey says something nice.

It was a bright piece of news to wake up to this morning. But as Kim's statement suggests, a healing process is only now beginning. I hope that Brittney gets all the support she needs to heal well. My thoughts are with her.

I appreciated Cherelle Griner's statement to the media this morning, where she gracefully balanced her gratitude and joy against the situation of Mr. Whelan and his family.

It hasn't stopped some from still bashing her today.

I'm so thrilled she's coming home. I have no frame of reference for the swap, who, what, where, when, why or how. All I care about is BG is coming home to her family. And that's all I will say on it.

Should be a blessed Christmas for the entire Griner clan.

My students, who normally don't follow women's basketball, could not wait to inform me of this news when I got to the classroom today. They were pumped and so was I. This is great news and I am happy that BG is coming home.

This is such a joyous day! I'm glad I can come into this forum and express that with people who are like minded and grateful for this. Positive reinforcement is a healthy thing. Hooray for freedom. Enjoy the reunion with your family & friends BG!

I'm glad Griner was released; not happy that we had to swap a criminal for her but getting her back to America was the right thing to do.

She had a really rough time in college and continues to be picked on. I'm glad she is home and can begin her recovery.

I remember when she was late joining the US national team for the world championships, because she had a detached retina. She wanted to play anyway and Geno, coach of that team, welcomed her and said how much it meant to the team to have her there. The national team had lost an exhibition game (I believe it was to France) and the team was a little shaky.
