She did not fit the criteria. Freshman year 1997 or later. Chamique was 1995 - 1996 school year.

It seems rather random, but the author states that any earlier cut-off resulted in too many candidates.

Kia Nurse???? I mean I loved her, but I would think the minimum requirement to get on this list would be to be an AA. At least 1 year, if not 2X AA.
 
The before 1997 rule is @#$%&. If you're going to make a cutoff, make it 2000, a nice even number.
