He has Shoni Shimmel's in your face confrontation with Griner under the basket as a historic play. As the color commentator noted at the time Shoni was given a ref gift because she should have been T'd up for continuing contact with a Griner trying to get away and talking self aggrandizing smack. Of course, hyperbole and editorial license is hardly new to the sports beat.

Yeah, I don't like him making a big deal out of a piece of unsportsmanlike conduct.

Yes, she was fortunate to not get a T.

But I don't see how that affects the play being historic? It's the play that most people probably remember.

It was good theatre, but it was not a game winner or similar; just one of many plays in a David/Goliath match up.

A " T " would have seriously impacted the outcome, as well as damping the drama of the most exciting wcbb game of the year. I'm glad the refs swallowed their whistles this one time.

Besides, there was certain poetic justice in Griner getting screwed over by the refs after making a career of being protected by them.
