From Gottlieb's twitter this morning:

"Ooh let's also change the APR standards in order to randomly punish UCONN,but lessen the impact on HBCUs- that seems fair"

Looks like this is picking up some steam in the national media...

You act like Mr. Diet Jim Rome was being sarcastic or something.

He just followed it up with this:

"I vigorously defend the NCAAs ideals of amateurism, promoting APR and some cheating legislation, but two sets of rules on APR?"

Well, if nothing else it will become a bigger story if for no other reason than the media needs to leep producing "news".

Actually pretty compelling when you consider only one university is held to a certain standard and ALL the other schools are let slide.

I am wondering if JC's silence is genius at work. Let the social media take up your mantra and and keep your nose out of it for now. It's unfair , but JC complaining is just the coach whinning, but the social media is far more powerful.

f his ass. whats done to this program is done already, its to late now. he knows that so he will jump in and throw a bone and try to act like he doesn't hate uconn. no matter if the ncaa changes the rule or not next year is going to be tough. were not going to be 3-20 but were not going 20-3 either. so deal with it for 1 year everyone. the last thing i want to see right now is this fanbase just looking for some 1 to cry with and there the dickheaddouggy g comes to the rescuse just to rub it in a little. FHIM

Let's get something straight: gottlieb (and jeff jacobs) has always been an a$$h0le, is still an a$$h0le, and will **always** be an a$$h0le. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occassionally. Just because one or both of them writes something every once in a blue moon that you agree with does not change who they are.

Agreed. The damage is already done. Even if we are eligible to make the tournament, I don't think we will be able to field a roster that can compete in the Big East. Granted our guard play should be strong, we have no one to pull down a rebound.

May be true, but a postseason ban is still a stain the program would be better off without.

A team with such diverging attitudes and personalities was never going to get to the Final 4. If the team has some incentive to play next year, they might actually come together in a way that benefits the future of the program. You need great recruits for the next season of course.

We need to go from sporatic tweets to consistant articles to have hope for a change.

They have plenty to play for next season. In fact, I think next years team will have the best chemistry we've had at UConn in quite some time due to the adversity they have all faced over the past year. These kids have seen the program dumped on by the national media, they've been painted as dumb jocks who don't go to class, they've seen their teammates sprint out the door, etc. How many times do you think they've heard, "Roscoe, Oriakhi, Drummond, and Lamb are all leaving, man, UConn's gonna suck next season"? If that doesn't plant a chip on their shoulder I don't know what will. Nobody plays the underdog card like Calhoun.

Still need the horses too get it done. Unless we get at least one more good big it will be a long year.

All these morons are finding the double penalty unfair after the fact.

Crocodile tears.
