Was going to post this. He makes a good point that we don’t attack mismatches when teams switch 1-4

That is a fantastic find. Really makes you appreciate the work the guards put into their reads on offense and the screening the team does as a whole.

I think it also shows how much more dangerous this team can be potentially this year because each of the players (1-4) is a threat from anywhere on the floor. Which means if an opposing team is even slightly off UConn is getting an open look.

There are a couple Twitter people who seem to just break down UCONN’s offensive sets. They did it all throughout the tourney last year too

This is such intelligent offense. In the NBA the best teams don't just spam one set play over and over again. Instead they see what scheme the defense is in and then run plays that beat those coverages. Hurly saw that Kansas was switching 1-4 and instead of just keeping our offense the same he added in slips, ghosts, flex screens and screen the screener action's that totally kills switching. Impressive stuff

We did post up AK a couple times in that game and I am sure once Castle gets up to speed he will destroy some guys that get switched onto him. I prefer to keep the motion offense though, keeps everyone involved and it tires defenses out having to be physically and mentally engaged when we have the ball.
