Stewart, Tuck, and Jefferson. After a season in which her team surpassed all expectations and came within seconds and a few suspect calls of reaching the NC game, Tiffany goes into the WNBA. Her floor-polishing fame spreads far and wide. Honey Badger gets stronger, Omnu gets even tougher (if that's possible), KML is unleashed as an inside and outside force while Kiah with ever greater efficiency and temerity swats away anyone daring to post up against her, and Stef continues her renaissance.

All that somewhat salves the disappointment of this humble UConn fan.

At their press conference according to John Altavilla; Diggins, Peters and Mallory all said "yes" when asked if beating UConn made tonight's victory even sweeter.

I take that as a huge compliment for our team.

ND has 3 good guards coming in, including Loyd. I like our kids better, and we add size.

Agree it is a compliment for our team. I don't know that any of our Huskies would have answered yes to that question if the tables were turned. I think they would have been a bit more diplomatic.

I am really looking forward to our next wins against ND. They have quickly surpassed TN as my most hated team.

Stewart is going to be a game-changer.

I think Tuck not so much. JMO.
Jefferson could be a game changer too.

Morgan is not a game changer but is very, very solid.

I don't know much on Jefferson.
I've seen Stewart, and I've seen Tuck.
She played with Massengale, who was "okay" for Tenn, but not the super-PG the vols coaches made her out to be.

Stewart, with Dolson, could be scary.

That is what we are hoping for, a truly terrifying post combination.

Pat and staff fell way down on recruiting after Candace Parker's class...especially at guard. Remember, Bobbitt was a JUCO; they are still struggling, kind of lost their identity; mad worse by Pat's disease.

KML has a pro-ready body per Doris. :)

She was the #1 recruit in her class and a legendary shooter. She has AA awards in her future.
Not to be a s@@t...I don't care much about rankings and whatnot.

What I AM wondering...what role will she play if Stewart pans out as thought??

Again, the question: can KML play and effective 3 and guard the spot??

But, heck yeah, KML can shoot. Love to watch her.

Stewart will play the four. KML will play the two and three spots depending on lineup.

I thought KML had superstar written for her when she came in....and I know she hit a down-patch or two, but I'm still thinking she's got it.

My question will still be her D....the great ones all make big plays on defense.

I agree. She could be the franchise when all is said and done, despite how much other talent is on the roster.

From a defensive standpoint, she's improved steadily throughout her freshman season, and I expect that trajectory to continue. She works extremely hard despite all of the accollades, so if whatever she's told to focus on during her annual "exit interview" with the coaching staff, I am certain she will. Continuing to improve her defense, post-up game, and mid-range game, are things I'd guess she'll be asked to keep working at. Really intriguing and special player who played a lot better in post-season situations than many a frosh before her.

Yeah the stuff I read on her coming to UConn was all about how hard she worked.

Somewhere seems like I read where she is basically pretty humble and coachable.

Presuming Griner doesn't turn Pro, Baylor has to be the preseason favorite to win the National Championship next year. They lose 3 seniors who come off the bench and combined average around 7 points a game. They also have a good recruiting class coming in. UConn should just be one of the favorites to get to the Final Four.

Baylor will be the favorite, but UConn will be 1A to Baylor's 1. Baylor doesn't drop off (and with everyone getting a bit better plus Alexis Prince probably being able to contribute a little bit, they should in fact be somewhat better), but UConn gets a lot better, and the gap bteween the two teams wasn't THAT great this year.

Barring a rash of injuries, anything short of the championship game would be a bit of a disappointment for UConn next season.

First things first. Beat the crap out of ND twice during the regular season and maybe in the post-season too. Reclaim the regular season BE championship. And I expect UConn to be in the championship game next year.

Actually I believe we only get to beat the crap out of ND once in the regular season because we finished third to SJU's #2 so we will play SJU twice. But we will probably get a chance to play ND again in the post season.

I believe Diggins has beaten UConn for the last time.. I do not want her to finish up with a winning record vs. UConn.

Notre Dame not getting Malina Howard is a huge problem. They have great guards and wings but will be incredibly thin in her post.

Not sure I understand what you're saying. I think it's pretty much been established that UConn will play ND twice again next season and where UConn finished in the standings has nothing to do with that. The BE teams that play each other more than once is based on perceived rivalries, TV interest, etc. Also, because there will be 15 BE teams and a 16-game schedule, each BE team will play 2 BE teams twice and every other BE team once. The question then will be which BE team (aside from ND) UConn will play twice. My guess is it'll be SJU or RU.

I thought the schedule was based on regular season order of finish, which is why we'd play SJU twice instead of ND. In any case, if we play two other teams twice, I am sure ND will be one of them, regardless of the methodology.

No, it has nothing to do with order of finish. UConn played Rutgers twice for a few years because that was then believed to be the best rivalry in the BE. After Rutgers slipped and ND improved, the BE chose to schedule ND and UConn twice per season. The Big East described the criteria for selecting repeat opponents as follows: "providing additional attractive television inventory, competitive issues/RPI implications and geographic rivalries as to minimize travel costs."
