Not sure if this is a good move or not. Sessions is a bit of a downgrade, but he's older and may be more amicable to coming off the bench behind Kemba.
Just to quote myself.
After further review, I like this signing more and more depending on how much it's for and how long.
Sessions is a taller PG, which makes him playing with Gordon a good thing. The Bobcats have vastly upgraded their backcourt this offseason. They basically went from:
PG: Augustin, Kemba
SG: Henderson, ???
to
PG: Kemba, Sessions
SG: Henderson, Gordon
Maggette is still a loss, in some aspects, but he was injured a lot last year (32 games). MKG/Taylor may not be an upgrade but they are young talent, which is good. Frontcourt needs help if Bismark and Mullens don't grow a lot.
Not a good, let alone great, team yet, but much better IMO (on paper).
Rich Cho is doing a very nice job with this franchise. They will still be bad enough to get a high pick, but they are getting slightly better along the way.
Rich Cho has now drafted Bismark, Kemba, MKG and Taylor which are all solid if not spectacular picks. He has signed Sessions and Mullens. He has traded for Gordon and acquired a first round draft pick (Pistons).
I wish he could have gotten something for DJ Augustin and Fatty Diaw, but just getting those two players off the roster is nice. I hope he amnesties Tyrus Thomas soon.
In a year he has done a hell of a job.
