Yep would seem to most Gottfried held him back from being the same in college.......too bad Abu didn't have the insight which led Rodney to the place he belonged!

Wow, Boone. What in the world ever happened? I forget how fantastic he was as a freshman. In fact, I was in the Garden for all the games when he filled in and played unbelievably. Without him, there is no BET championship, and though you can say that about Gordon too maybe, Boone was integral.
Look how great he's playing in this vid. So active.
Biggest mystery in my 30 years of watching UConn.

Yeah but he was always solid people just picked on him.......was noticeably excellent on the weak side with Emeka being doubled at times......he was really good in that game though wasn't he - boards and tip ins!

Duke game always jumps out to me with Boone. Had something like 11 boards in the first half after Emeka went out. It could have gotten really ugly without that. His dive for the loose ball and timeout during the 12-0 run often gets overlooked.
