Having coach calhoun on the bench as a special assistant for the final 4? Not that I don't trust coach Ollie but having calhoun for tips can't hurt

I say this with a smile. You can tell we have run out of things to talk about. ;)

It is obviously time to play the game...with Jim in the stands. He can and will advise Ollie on how to handle the pressures of a final four, but we don't need anybody else on the bench. This team and staff got us here, this is their time to shine.

I would use JC for one thing and one thing only. To come charging out of the stands on a horrendous call and get escorted out of the arena while all the other assistants have KO in a headlock and pinned to the bench so he doesn't.

He already is a Special Assistant and he already sits courtside. He's the Special Assistant to the Athletic Director.

Calhoun is already on the record as saying, when Ollie wants help, he calls Calhoun. When he doesn't want help, he doesn't and Calhoun does not offer what is not asked. Ollie is now 50-18 and 6-1 in post season tournaments. It appears he has a decent grasp of this coaching thing and where to go for advice.

NO worries - like in 2011, JC and KO will map out the game plan in the hotel banquet room with walk thrus and hours later UConn will be in Nat Champ game
Two genius minds are better than one - JC will watch from the stands

might be the worse idea I have heard yet, no offense

I don't think his idea was that we should have no offense. But if that's it, we're doomed!

At least he didn't suggest having Dove at the end of the bench.

I'm sure KO consulted JC this week in their meetings, but this won't happen.

Only if Calhoun has to excuse himself for the rest of the game due to a stomach ailment.

If Ollie, Miller, Hobbs, Moore and Freeman all get double Technicals and thrown out would Calhoun then be able to coach? Or would the Grad Assistant come next?

Sometimes we just need to learn to entertain the OP as if they made a valid point. Giving a fellow fan some keyboard love is good mojo this time of year, even if its phony. He could have been alone and by himself all week and in need of validation.

Not only is it a bad idea, it's against NCAA rules. They mandate how many coaches are allowed on the bench.
