I've been to Vaughn's Public House across the street and Black-Eyed Sally's around the corner. Both seem ok, but check their hours.

I second Milford's recommendation of Vaughn's Pup and Black-Eyed Sally's. Neither is gourmet dining. More like comfort food. Vaughn's is a burger joint, Sally's is New Orleans in New England. And yes, check their hours. Downtown Hartford is a ghost town on the weekends.

They open at 11:30 and noon, Looks like Chick Filet at the XL center. You would think they would open before a Saturday game, they would be the only "game" in town.

Hartford restaurants seem reluctant to change their hours to accommodate 10,000 or more people attending an XL event. Probably easier to get an early dinner/late lunch after the game.

There’s also A Place 2 Be in New Haven. I enjoyed it there
