But my subjective view is that ESPN is walking back the UConn talk to encourage audience size.

A tv network is trying to increase viewership ?!?!??

OMG

They surely need to. Their operations are losing subscribers at a shocking rate, and their profit and loss sheet is much weaker than ten years ago. Failure to understand audience fragmentation and converged media use, combined with a backbreaking payout to the NFL for rights has put ESPN in a position where they had better grow their audience, or at least stop the shrinkage. The consequences of not doing so are dire.

The way of the world---new technology comes and shoves out the old technology---Papers, TV, Radio, Magazines, even books--if you don't believe it--look at the thickness of the Newspapers, magazines, how often do YOU go to a movie, read a book, ??
You can watch old sports , new sports, old news , new news from around the world on your laptop or cell phone---Technology
has changed life if not for centuries at least for 250 years. To travel from Hartford to New Haven, unless by boat, took two or more days--except for the traffic you could probably beat that time in your car or fly there in 30 minutes (take off and landing included) I shall miss ESPN they have been good to Uconn--But my heart does not bleed for them-Don't cry for me Argentia!! They made big bucks when the making was good.

The attendance is very, very disappointing. Always the same it seems in these send um somewhere away from the fans venues. Reflects horribly on a game trying to grow. I guess the whole Los Vegas suggestion would work if they handed out tickets to the grey hairs on the street and got the games over by 4 PM.

A while back and probably still do--consider the fans a team would bring along for Football bowl games--Arkansas and Ok Sooner dragged thousands with them---It may be time for BB to think of some mixture of ranking/seeding/ that includes number of fans who accompany teams to various venues. I thought they had reviewed SPECIFIC regional sites as a constant for WBB tourney games--did that flop? Because it would assure teams like MD the opportunity to pre purchase , with expectation, site tickets.
Don't ask me about specific's ---idea men --only have ideas--detail men have do the easy stuff of figuring out how to do it.
When was the last time you were in VEgas?? end of games by 4 pm?? I've been there--and you know those venues have gotten modern---one I attended at an un godly---7 pm---now way of getting a full night's sleep there...

Dang, I thought everyone would get the humor of that. The blue plate special ground wants to get their walker in line for the blue plate special by 4:30. Yeah, I know it was a cheesy joke. I think Vegas is cheesy and a super dumb idea. Like those Bahamas tourneys in November with fold out stands and 57 people watching. NCAA tournament, dinner theater seating and prime rib, $45 dollars, come on down! Final 4, no problem. If you hold Final Fours in New Orleans, you might as well hold them in Vegas. More hotels, etc etc etc and a higher class of hooker I'm told.

The last time I was in Vegas--it was a side trip on a business trip--one of the guys I was with was a sweet talker and got us 2 suites for y]the price of a cheap room---the spouse is still asking about what happened in VEGAS and I just show her the signs---What happens in Vegas --stays in vegas!! You are a dirty stay up all nite--going to bed after 7 pm--buffet or no buffet---

The Feds for years would not hold conferences in Vegas--Image --you know!--now even they hold conferences in Vegas---why not WBB --if they can do it in Geno's place--casino/etc???
No hookers in Vegas---they are all showgirls---That's Entertainment!!
