Her Florida Gulf Coast team whomped Virginia Tech 69-41 yesterday. I figure any win by FGC against a team from a power conference is notable. Last year in the post-season WNIT FGC hosted Florida and it went down to the wire....Florida winning by a couple. I heard that FGC shoots a ton of treys....hey...just emulate Mel's form. Not sure but I think that FGC is eligible to play in the NCAA tournament this year [first year for that]. I figure they have no shot at an at-large bid so just win their conference tournament.

Va. Tech seems to have fallen and can't get up. When in the BE they were solid. What's up with them?

Blake - FGC is ranked 1st in the country in 3 point fg per game (UConn is 10th). They shoot a lot of them, ranked only 37th in 3 point fg made (UConn is 17th).
Jeff Sagarin has them ranked 50th with a w/l of 7-1.

Will be in South Florida during Feb and March and will make every effort to catch one or two FGC games. I would assume tickets are easy to obtain.
