Thats actually a solid 5. The kid from stanford is great, and starks is smart and wont jack up threes. Giffey will play in the nba summer league book it.

Ouch. Talk about that being the best blurb you can come up with?

So 4 years ago coming into college people thought he'd be good? Yikes. He didn't even win the actual award.

For what it's worth, he was a newcomer to the Big XII this past season

Haha oh right, he was the Memphis guy. That makes way more sense... but still.

Joe Jackson, Isaiah Sykes, Justin Jackson, Dalton Pepper, and of course Niels representing the AAC.

Giffey can use these venues to build value because it is doubtful that he would be drafted otherwise. The good news is that he will have a chance if he performs well. Good luck Niels!

Specifically, Giffey won't be playing with the best point guard in the country, to whom he (properly) had to defer all season long on the offensive end.

Toward the end of the year I thought that Giffey was showing a substantially improved handle and much improved move to the rim. There was one play late in the NC game when he took his man off the dribble to the right, starting at about the 3 point line on the left side, and got all the way to about 5 feet, where he rose up and lofted a beautiful floater - defender (poythress?) was not in his air space, and Niels had a clean look. Back rimmed it, but the point is, he took a 6/7 ish athletic defender strongly to the hole and got off a very nice looking shot.

Niels can certainly keep improving over the next few years by working on his drive and pull up, drive and finish, and drive and floater. And his left hand.

He is not near his ceiling, IMO.

Watching some of his games w/ the German team last year I 100% agree with this. He was the best player on the court at times, and there were some very good players in those games.

Giffey's situation is interesting, watching the draft over the years there are European players drafted in the 2nd round all the time who are less accomplished than Giffey, who has done it both at the college and FIBA level. Fraschilla will go on and on about someone's potential, then you find out at the end that they either don't even get minutes for their club teams or have no stats to back up the praise Fraschilla is heaping on them.

This kid is a San Antonio Spur. I know it's a long shot, but it's so easy to see him wearing a Spurs jersey.

Yes that is what I have been saying all year, he is definitely a Popovich type of player.
