Giffey Interview - It's about more than just basketball

Giffey really did grow up before our eyes. As a freshman he was so timid. JC used to give him the hook immediately if he missed a shot and it seemed like he only attempted ten the entire season. I remember at some point before this year the rumor going around the board was that Giffey was the best shooter on the team and killed it in practice, and it's great to watch that come to fruition. He's been nothing but heart, hustle and effort from the first time he stepped on the court as a Husky and it's really been a pleasure watching him mature. He'll have a great career in Europe and will go down as one of my favorite Huskies because he came to play 100% of the time.

Classy kid. And reading between the lines, he's obviously not happy with those who bailed on the program a few years ago.

The unselfishness of Niels can be seen by simply observing how a discussion about "his" 4 years here, focuses on his appreciation of his teammates, esp Shabazz. Great Husky.
