Getting to Rutgers

I am thinking of going to the UConn-Rutgers football game. Does anyone know if it is possible to get there via public transport from NYC?

The Transit Directions feature on Google Maps is your friend. Short answer is that it is a bus ride or uncomfortable 2+ mile walk from the New Brunswick Rail Station.
