UConn braces for DePaul’s high-speed offense

“When you get a team that shoots that many, you’re kind of at their mercy,” Auriemma said. “This is not like, ‘Well, we’ve got to guard that kid and that kid.’ If they’re on the floor, you’ve got to guard them. That’s all there is to it. And even if you guard them, it doesn’t matter.”

"As unconventional as the Blue Demons’ style may be, it’s suited them well. They’re 4-2 and ranked No. 16 in the AP poll, with their only losses coming against No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 12 Syracuse.

“They play a different style and they substitute differently. I don’t know what his rhyme or reason is for when he does it and why he does it,” Auriemma said, referring to Blue Demons coach Doug Bruno. “Sometimes it’s just hockey; it’s just five guys over the boards. It’s five guys in and five guys out. You’ve got no idea why they’re coming out. A kid could go 4-for-4 and it’s their turn to come out.”

Usually a fun high scoring game. Looking forward to it. :D

The fun of the DePaul games is Doug Bruno. A sweetheart a truly nice guy. The platoon system he used for a few years now. He keeps fresh legs against a hard running Uconn team. When you live by the 3 you must have fresh legs to keep them going in.
I doubt there isn't anything about Doug Bruno Geno doesn't know including his sub pattern.

DePaul has a freshman reserve guard who was the Missouri POY in her class last season after having led her team to the last two Missouri State high school championships. She played at Incarnate Word Academy, the same school at which Napheesa Collier played. Her name is Sonya Morris. She was an accurate outside shooter.

DePaul vs. Notre Dame

ND ran them into the ground and shot lights out. Not sure if that says more about ND's offense or DePaul's defense.
