Jan & Feb are a bit tough here. But, I'll take the winters of the northeast over the summers of Fla., any month of the year.
Plus, my wife is a teacher (high school) she states the kids who move up from Fla. are so far behind the kids from CT. And kids from Fla. are indeed moving up here due to the extremely high rate of foreclosures down in "paradise".

The overall quality of life in Connecticut is very good. And culturally, Florida is a void.

Foreclosed in FL, but moved to CT? Got a loan from a bank in CT? The Fed and regulators won't let the banks lend. Sowith taxes up, the econ is screwed. Look to a recession for 1Q (at least a neg 1Q GDP).

Most of the people that move back are immigrant laborers and their kids would be behind in school if they came to CT from MA. Florida is just like any other place, good school districts and bad ones. Wealthy zip codes in Florida have great schools. Average SAT and ACT scores in my Florida school district rival any town in CT.
