I hope this is not a redundant post, but I didn't see one. I listened last night. Pheesa is a guest. Geno talks about recruiting, Pheesa's development, and more. He seemed upbeat on recruiting. He says you don't get all the kids you want every year, but he says he will get more great players in the (near) future. He mentions that some classes are better than others (2020, I believe) and it's a tough decision to recruit kids from earlier years or wait for the years when there is more talent along with more UConn-type kids.

It's on the team's Facebook page.

Thanks I liked this.
I keep reading the highlighted above and thought about starting a thread asking exactly IS a Uconn type kid. Mainly from what I have seen the key factors are: High Confidence, High talent, play hard and don't show a TaT...but there must be more.

UConn kids are really wholesome kids (as are most all college bb players); they can take the heavy, constant, criticism; they understand it is a team sport not an individual one; and most all of them are very highly talented athletes.

Here it is: The show begins at 10:45 (the number above the slide). Slide the white button (click and hold) at the bottom over to the right until the numbers above it are at 10:45. Also click on the speaker icon on the far right to hear the sound. Geno shares more of his coaching insight, and pearls of wisdom in this show. It's worth the listen.

Interesting. The players Lou likes to watch the most are Shae from College and DT in the Pros'

I like Lou's take on Dee's year: "She dominates them all."

 Sue and Stewie may have something to say about that.

She's rarely head on head with either. Though Phoenix lost the series with Seattle Dee was her usual bigger than life baller in the series.

Dee was great, the combo of Sue and Stewie was better imho. And not everything is scoring

But I do wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas

Surely you do not contend that DT is just about scoring! Breanna has a distinctly better stat line on defense and D has the better assists rate. But clearly Stewie is the acknowledged best in the world right now.

Yes, DT is more than scoring but when the language of 'domination' is used with DT, it is almost always used in the context of scoring with tough 3pt shots made or beautiful drives and that gets both fans and peers excited. I get that.

The only point I am trying to make is that Sue often seems to get less recognition (i.e get noticed as one of the very very best) than she deserves and for me, Sue was just as dominating when considering her combination of passing, clutch shooting and leadership. And for what it is worth, I was a little bummed that Lou did not seem as And Stewie is Stewie and needs no extra support from me. ;)

I suspect it didn't hurt for D to be a California girl. It seems to me that Sue is still the best point guard in the world and scoring is secondary for her, though she demonstrated in the WNBA semifinals she could put the afterburner on when required.

Thanks. I have a pretty good feel for what Geno and Christine think an ideal "Uconn kid" should be. I see that term thrown around a lot. Discounting GA and CD, I was wondering what those that use Uconn kid" mean. I have a suspicion it's not CD/GA's version.
