I really enjoy the format - and the game strategy segments are great! Enjoyed watching the players trying to decide how to handle the question - whether to include themselves and their teammates. I had gotten a little bored with the old format - Geno may have had to speak for longer, but he didn't have to 'say' anything more.
Funny, we're on totally opposite sides of this (especially, for instance, if you were NOT a CPTV watcher). We, as CPTVers got the x's and o's early on in the CPTV residency. Fans got to ask questions. We got to see him review games. We got to see live q&as with the assistants. We got guests. We got 30-45 minutes worth of content. We got to see a rich version of Geno.
Now, folks get 8-10 minutes of him. I understand that Geno would rather do that, but I think the new, wider audience is missing a great opportunity to know him better. For instance, yes, he pointed out the mistake in defense in the one play... but I'd love for him to explain why Tuck's decision was a mistake -- as in, how does a player decide to take a risk or not. I'd also like to know if KML's rotation should have been signaled by Stewie (should she have talked to her teammates). I'd like to know what kind of discussion/teaching they would have had afterwards. I'd like to have known why the 2-3 is unusual for UConn and why it's more effective with tall folks. I like learning more about the game.
