I really believe that we need couple of shooting guards. Does anyone know if UConn has any interest in Evina Westbrook? I haven't heard her name mentioned on the Boneyard before.

Geno was recruiting in Albany Tuesday. Yes, folks, he's pursuing posts.

CityRocks Girls Director Keith Danzy on rising star Olivia Owens, Albany Times Union

Owens has offers from Syracuse and Minnesota to date. Her team has lost to Shenendehowa and Columbia so far, but she scored 20 versus Columbia. I should be able to see her play at some point this year. I don't know if we have any Maryland fans on the board, but senior Kevin Huerter of Shenendehowa has committed to Maryland. He's a 6'5" shooting guard and a good one.

Geno should stop in at The Beach Ball Classic Tournament and check out "Keyonce." She's a 6-4 junior post and runs the 400 meters. Spirit Airlines will get him there.

Ladazhia Williams had 22 points and 10 rebounds with Geno in attendance.

VOICES OF THE FUTURE -- MO'NE DAVIS ISN'T RESTING ON HER LITTLE LEAGUE STARDOM, ESPN Oct. 7, 2015

An honor student, Davis says she's committed to getting good grades while continuing to pursue her athletic dreams. But here comes the time management part: Right now, she's playing on her school's varsity soccer team while pitching for her fall travel baseball team, as well. She practices every day after school with her soccer team, and works on hitting, pitching and fielding drills at baseball practice.

She also trains for basketball two days a week, which is where, she said, she finds solace from her hectic schedule.

"I don't think about anything else on the court," she said. "It frees my mind."

Davis said her dream is to play basketball at UConn and then in the WNBA, so she has gotten into a rhythm of putting time in the gym to make that happen.

I love to see that the best staff in the land is all over the place in this down-time!

BTW: Springfield Central [Ma.] lost to DeKalb by 4 points in round one action....I think their section is the best in the event.
I also see that Katie's alma mater [Mater Dei] lost in round one.

I not sure you ever got an answer to your question. I heard through the AAU coaching grapevine that there might have been mutual interest between Westbrook and UCONN but the distance ( she's from Oregon) and the other kids in the class (Walker & Gordon) makes the interest very low on both sides.

Any word on how the Jade Williams situation is shaping up? Or for that matter Megan Walker?

UCONN still in the running for both despite what some "services" are predicting. Geno and Shea saw Megan play recently and jade completed her in home visits in Nov time frame.

Geno may be in Florida today but Chris and Marisa are in Arizona for the Nike TOC: LINK
And of course they are listed with different school names, UCONN and University of Connecticut. Guess which goes with who before reading.

Do you have a first name for Keyonce? What state and High School? I don't see anything listed in the boxscores for the BeachBall classic.

"the face of women's basketball" I like that. a lot.

When Geno enters a HS gym -- or an interview studio or even a recruit's home -- he brings a magical, attention-commanding quality most often referred to as "presence."

As Supreme Court Justice Potter once stated (about pornography): "I can't define it, but I know what it is when I see it."

Many public figures have this magical quality that stops conversations or suspends activity the moment they make their entrance. Coach K, and Nick Saban have it; I'm not so sure about Bill Belichek. Meryl Streep, for sure. Serena but not Venus. iger but not Phil. And so on.

Geno's practiced low-key technique makes his "presence" all the more remarkable. Blazer, jeans, no aides, no camera, no note pad. Seats himself anywhere in the bleachers, Exudes a demeanor of supreme self-confidence simultaneous with a business-as-usual attitude. Call it "presence" or a WOW factor. Simply remarkable.:)
