"the face of women's basketball" I like that. a lot.
When Geno enters a HS gym -- or an interview studio or even a recruit's home -- he brings a magical, attention-commanding quality most often referred to as "presence."
As Supreme Court Justice Potter once stated (about pornography): "I can't define it, but I know what it is when I see it."
Many public figures have this magical quality that stops conversations or suspends activity the moment they make their entrance. Coach K, and Nick Saban have it; I'm not so sure about Bill Belichek. Meryl Streep, for sure. Serena but not Venus. iger but not Phil. And so on.
Geno's practiced low-key technique makes his "presence" all the more remarkable. Blazer, jeans, no aides, no camera, no note pad. Seats himself anywhere in the bleachers, Exudes a demeanor of supreme self-confidence simultaneous with a business-as-usual attitude. Call it "presence" or a WOW factor. Simply remarkable.
