"It’s moments like this that Auriemma was talking about earlier in the week, describing UConn as incapable of doing one thing all good or all bad. It’s a season, he conceded, where the team can’t rely on one part of its game being perfect.

“This is one of those years where every single thing that is a positive with our team has a negative attached to it," Auriemma said. “There isn’t anything that’s all this way or half positive, half neutral. It’s either a lot positive and a lot negative or some combination of those two things, so I’ve got to find a way to deal with that.”

In practice on Friday, the Huskies focused a lot on defense — something they didn’t have problems with against Cincinnati, but that hasn’t been their strong point this season. They played fast, pressuring and trapping opponents, with emphasis on not allowing layups or second-chance buckets."

Also Danger talking being a vocal leader.

Paige Bueckers and Hailey Van Lith should read this. Crystal Dangerfield is morphing into a smaller, more athletic version of Sue Bird. If you want to be a GREAT point guard, let Geno teach you!

.Uconn has been known for D. Baylor may have been different with Uconn typical D. That's a maybe. Coombs asset is Defense, ONO showed good Defense against ND It is something these two can be assets as subs.
Maybe if their D is good it will give them the confidence to provide some scoring.
Smart move by Geno the Teacher--start with something ONO and Coombs have a bit of success with and build on it to make Players out of them.

The number of Great Guards that have come through the UConn program is vast.
Geno has had such great success with guards he ran 3 guard teams with success.
Sue was my guard to love, Rene, Maria, Dt, -----Moriah (none better anywhere imo) now Danger is morphing to a less athletic Moriah. If you love basketball watch Uconn's guard.
