To all those nervous nellies out there who are constantly judging players as improving or getting worse in every game, remember Geno's words: we didn't play great, but we had a great heart, and that's more important. Sometimes it's the things that don't show up in the box score that are the most important (Bill Belichick 3 years ago, when the Patriots got blown out in the first game but went on to win the Superbowl, later said he didn't mind that they were blown out, because he saw that they competed right to the end and he knew then that he had a good team.)
