As a former Journalism major, I couldn't agree more. I had to drop my paper Courant subscription after decades because the delivery guy wasn't getting here until 7:30 or 8:00. That's way too late to read before work. But I subscribed to the online version immediately. And it's a lot more than the reporters you see in the bylines losing jobs. There used to be piles of editors and proofers, keeping the writing crisp and training the next generation of writers. UConn women's basketball is unbelievably fortunate to still have so many newspapers and other news outlets dedicating such significant resources to the program. Their coverage helps make the total UConn basketball experience more fulfilling - especially for knuckleheads like us who spend entirely too much time hungering for every tidbit.

The average working American is struggling to pay high food, shelter, insurance and energy costs. I hesitate to call anybody out for not paying for one more item. If they can afford it sure but everybody has a budget.
