Geno on DT

Very interesting interview going into topics not normally covered.

I particularly liked the differences between MJ and DT's leadership

Diana does the exact same thing (lead her teammates and makes them get better) , but she does it in a completely different way, where everybody that's ever been on her team would die to be her teammate again because she just does it in a different way. She elevates her teammates. She bestows greatness upon that. She convinces them that they're better than they've ever imagined to be. Even if she don't like you. And that's a real gift. To be able to make someone believe that you think they're the greatest and that they need you and that you're the key to winning championships. And even if beyond that, she thinks you're s***head and would never spend five minutes with you off the court.

Also the linked story discussing her difficult issues (along with some WNBA coach assessment)

For those that enjoy listening to podcasts, here's one from SI's The Record where host Kelli Anderson discusses Diana Taurasi's place among basketball's all-time greats.
[duration: 38:58]

Interesting take on DT's impact of her team mates. Heard it before but not with such strength. It does set her apart in a very positive way.

Coach Geno is absolutely fascinating. I read or watch all of his interviews, and I am always amazed at his insights, at his judgment, at his humor, his candor.

He really knows Diana Taurasi. Probably far better than she will ever know herself.

It's no accident she won those last 2 titles with less than a stellar supporting cast.
